Sadly, we are several states away from family and friends. But, we KNOW that they long to hear our mundane stories and self-righteous opinions. Never fear, friends- you can stay informed right here.

Awesome Wedding News!

Just in time for me to work 7 days straight before I leave for Oklahoma, I AM SICK. Awesome news, right? I went to the doctor today with a fever and a sore throat. She said my throat looks terrible and gave me 2 prescriptions. It's all very exciting, especially since I have so much to do for the wedding coming up and I'm working every day for 7 days before I leave.

Awesome! Pity me!

Book Rec

Mom, I've been thinking about you the past few days. There's a book that you MUST read. It's called "The Culture of Fear" by Barry Glassner. I'm about half-way through it, and every single sentence I read I think of you. I think you would love this book and benefit greatly from it, as am I. I also recommend it to the rest of you...but mostly Mom.

Buy it!

Update

So, this post is going to be way better than Dwayne's last one because, let's be honest- who HASN'T ridden a camel in Mongolia, right?

Anywho, I know it's been a while...a loooong while. But, as you probably know- I've been super-busy.

So, we're wedding planning. Well, mom and I are wedding planning. Things are going well.

What has happened recently...hmm...well, I went with two friends to the Chicago Blues Festival and saw B.B. King for free a couple of weeks ago. It was awesome. We also went to Taste of Chicago this weekend....it was lame. Lesson learned.

Last week Cameron and I moved into our new neighboorhood- Edgewater...which is pretty much the gayborhood. It's great. I recently read a stat that our zip code (60640) has the most registered same sex couples of any zip code in Chicago. There is, of course, an area where young single gays live called Boystown. Edgewater is more of the place that the gays go to just settle down when they are older. We see a lot of much older couples walking around here. It's nice and very safe and it's a relief to be where things are friendly and safe. The apartment is great and we're adjusting. Jackie is taking a little longer- turns out elevators are really confusing, and sometimes riding down 4 floors is just too much and she might have peed on the rug in the hallway a couple of times. But she's getting used to things.

At our new apartment, we have a grocery store literally right across the street, a Blockbuster down the road, an express bus that goes downtown right outside the door, the "el" 2 blocks away, and a 24-hour McDonald's right on the corner. What else could you ask for? Also, igocars are all over the place next to our apartment. It's great!

So, this weekend I had my two main gays from Texas come up and visit. They stayed at my place while Cam was conveniently gone to Lubbock. He had fun there and made it safely back.

So, me and my gays partied hardy. I partied like I was 21 again. And then I was miserable afterwards. I really must be getting too old.

This weekend is my bachelorette party extravaganza weekend of utter debauchery. Well, that's what we're calling it at least. My Texas BFF Molly gets into town on Wednesday and my Kansas BFFs Christina, Cori, and Heather get into town on Friday. I have the whole weekend off and we have a great time planned. It should be AMAZING, and potentially the best weekend of my life.

I hope everyone is getting psyched for the wedding. I know we are. We can't wait. It's going to be amazing!

Love you all and miss you. I will post some picture of my recent adventures.
